Post workout supps
Hi Everyone, I've been struggling to find the "proper' post workout formula/supplement product(s)....usually I've been using a Creatine based formula like for example I've used Gaspari Size On, I've used Cytocel by cytogenics, I've used MRI's creatine formula...anyway, many different types and would also add some glutamine and vitargo and found that did a rather good job.
Does anyone have any other routines, supplements or foods they use post workout?

Re: Post workout supps
Keep it simple.
Protein: 35-50 grams(anything over 50 may bloat you bad)
Some form of simple carb like Waxy Maize or vitargo...strapped for loot, a tablespoon of sugar is cool.
Creatine, BCAA's and beta alanine works good post workout.
Hope this helps.

For a supplement, I drink the Muscletech Anator P70 for post-workout. The Orange Cooler flavor tastes like orange creamsicle.

Re: Post workout supps
Torrent is a great post workout supplement that is formulated to optimize recovery.
A serving of Torrent supplies you with:
20 grams of high quality hydro whey
8 grams of Leucine (the anabolic trigger)
7 grams of cell volumizers
3 grams of creatine
a great carb blend
For post workout you can't beat it and it comes in 3 GREAT flavors and 2 sizes.

Re: Post workout supps
First off legal supliments are very minimal in gains compared to hard work and hard eating. I will admit over time, long periods, supliments will add up, but so does extra hard work and discipline. I have met all my goals in natural bodybuilding and did not supliment much at all. In the last 3 years i hardly ever drink protien. My curent wieght is 230 at 5foot 8 inches tall, aproxamately 15% BF----p.s.i can squat 405 for 20 deep on any given day

You can. I personally think NO supps are overrated unless you're on a high to semi high volume routine. Torrent is merely a postworkout supp with waxy maize, aminos, creatine and other ingredients

Re: Post workout supps
I find that a combination of both (powders and real food) works best for me. I have always done some fast-acting carbs and whey right after working out, real food an hour later. Currently I am doing
1 hour before: 20g whey, piece of fruit (I work out right away in the morning, so just to get something in me beforehand)
1/2 hour before: NOExplode, 2.5g cee
during: 30g waxy maize, 20g whey, vitamin powders.
post (this is where it gets fun) 60g fast carbs (smoothie w/ fruit and honey, fat free frozen yogurt, few skinny cow ice cream cookies, etc), 30g whey, 2.5g cee
1 hour later breakfast, eggs/whites, oatmeal, etc.
I'm just getting back into lifting after being out for a long time due to a nervous system snafu, but up 10 lbs lean and down 5 lbs fat in the past six weeks doing this along with an OCD eating schedule.
